It offers a highly skilled and flexible workforce, internationally respected universities in nearby Manchester and Liverpool, a new university in Chester and a rapidly growing one in Crewe, prestigious business and science parks presenting unrivalled opportunities for growth, excellent motorway links and an outstanding environment for both work and leisure. In addition, the subregion continues to benefit from a high level of inward investment from new and existing firms.
Nevertheless, the economy is faced with some significant challenges that will need to be addressed.
