‘Reducing crime and disorder’ was the top priority for improving quality of life for Cheshire residents in the 2005
Quality of Life Survey. The 2006 Cheshire Community Survey also shows that ‘fear of crime’ continues to be higher than actual experience. However, it is important to note that Cheshire remains a relatively safe area to live.
Since April 2006, the six
Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) in Cheshire have all contributed to the development of a common finance and performance regime under the county-wide Safer, Stronger Cheshire Group (SSCG). The CDRPs report on their performance against national and local targets through their quarterly financial claims to the County Council. These reports are aggregated in order to report quarterly to the SSCG and six-monthly on the use of the grant to
Government Office North West.
